(Mother in Toyooka)

I went to visit a patient in Toyooka last Sunday.
Though I was wondering whether the patient felt satisfied or not because of visiting only once a month, three years have already passed since I started.
I have thanked a lot for Ms. Nakawa who rents me a house as a clinic pleasantly.
She has welcomed a lot of patients from the morning to the night with a smile of the sun as mother. She has looked very fine but the chronic leukemia and she’s been running around the city of Toyooka for the people every day. I have been taught by Ms. Nakawa who is mother of Toyooka. She has the spirit of thorough sincerity. Moreover, I occasionally feel that I have a fate to go to learn the things from her.

(Importance to know)

I went to the patient living in Toyooka too on the way home from visiting.
That lady living by herself became from Hepatitis C to cirrhosis and she is liver carcinoma now. She has often been into the hospital and out.
The window lighting of the apartment was seen in the very quiet and very dark place, which seem no neighbors.
As soon as I entered the apartment, she was very glad to see me with her tears though she said she had better die.
To know the patient where and how to live, and the environment and the relationship surrounded the patient, are very important to treat.
I try to visit the serious patients once a month as much as possible though I cannot take the time.
This patient has embarrassed nurses in the hospital but she looks very bravery because living alone in such like a place.
The more I know the patient, the more I become gentle.
Although I don’ think I can see everything of others of course, the mind that tries to know should be needed for the medical treatment person not to become arrogance.

(The distance between medical treatment person and patient)

A popular hospital was introduced on TV the other day. A lot of trainees come to gather in this hospital because they can learn the advanced medical technology with the pioneer of the community health.
The doctor working there said, “To examine the patient means that not for internal organs. We have to think how the patient live and the cause by seeing the whole life of the patient. I was very impressed by him. Western medicine comes to speak the word of the Oriental medicine. Moreover, the trainees have to work on the field and they get to know how a lot of patients of the farmers live actually. One trainee talked about a wonderful abundance. “The distance between the doctors and patients are very close differing from the university hospital.” “I would like to keep the same aspect as the local in going to visit based on the hospital.”

(Warmhearted-mind to others)

Mr. Fujimoto who is the principal of Hiroshima City University said that the key word opening the future is not the sympathy but warmhearted-mind to others and listening to others carefully. I’m consented sincerely by his words.
It isn’t easy to face one by one when we become busy. This might be a reality of the current medical treatment.
However, the person has delicate receptivity which is pleased or sorry with only one word. As the body and mind are connected, the weight is much large.
I would like keep myself who can listen to others as much as possible.
Visiting the patients which I try to listen to others carefully would be needed and more important in the future.
